About Flappy Bird 2
The original Flappy Bird was released in 2013 by Dong Nguyen, became the most-downloaded free game on both app stores in early 2014, and was pulled by its own creator weeks later — he said it had become too addictive. One tap to flap, one gap to clear, one collision to end it.
This sequel keeps the mechanic untouched because there is nothing to improve: gravity pulls you down, a tap pushes you up, and the pipes never move. Everything difficult about it comes from how small the margin is between those two forces.
How to play
- Tap, click or press space to make the bird flap upward. It falls constantly when you do not.
- Fly through the gap between each pair of pipes. Touching a pipe, the ground or the ceiling ends the run.
- Each pipe cleared is one point. The spacing does not get harder — you get more tired.
Controls
- Space bar / Left click
- Flap.
- Touch
- Tap anywhere on the screen.
Tips
- Aim for the bottom of the gap, not the middle. The bird rises fast and falls slowly, so overshooting upward is the more common death.
- Find a rhythm and keep it. Steady small taps hold a straighter line than reacting to each pipe individually.
- Never panic-tap. Two flaps in quick succession sends the bird into the top pipe almost every time.
- Start the tap slightly before you think you need to. The flap has a moment of upward travel before it takes effect.
- Ignore the score while you are flying. Looking at the number is how good runs end at pipe twenty.
Frequently asked questions
Why was Flappy Bird removed from the app stores?
Its creator, Dong Nguyen, took it down in February 2014, saying the game had become too addictive and the attention was unmanageable. It was not removed by Apple or Google.
Is there a trick to Flappy Bird?
Only rhythm. The pipe gaps are a fixed size and randomly positioned, so consistency beats reaction.
What is a good score?
Getting past 10 puts you ahead of most first-time players. Anything above 40 is genuinely good.
Can I play it on a phone?
Yes. Tap anywhere on the screen to flap.
